Autumn Forest (Gold Season) Guided Meditation - Gratitude and Joy
After a sweltering summer, autumn is a time to chill off. It allows people to admire the beauty of nature as autumn leaves change hues and elegantly fall from the trees. It also provides the option for specific styles of meditation.
Meditations for the Fall
Autumn meditations are about discovering beauty, having fun, and expressing thanks for life's blessings. To begin any of the following meditations, locate a quiet spot to sit with your back straight. Begin taking deep, meditative breaths after shutting your eyes. Each of these meditations can be as long or as short as desired.
Meditation on Autumn Leaves
Take a step outside and get some fallen leaves. Look for leaves with a variety of textures, sizes, and colors. Begin this meditation by concentrating on the hues of the leaves. What emotions does each hue evoke in you? Focus on the sensation in your fingertips as you run your fingers over each leaf.
Consider the vivid hues of the leaves. Imagine taking a giant armful of leaves, scattering them in the air, and having them fall down all around you. Consider the heat of the sun stroking you as the leaves fall. When you're through with this meditation, take a few minutes to absorb everything before moving on with your day.
Halloween Reflection
It may appear strange to meditate on Halloween, but the following meditation is intended to foster creativity, enjoyment, and well-being. Begin by visualizing several Halloween scenarios. Make them into cartoons. (You don't want to imagine anything frightening.) Consider flying over strange-looking jack-o-lanterns or Casper-like ghosts. Remember to keep it lighthearted.
Consider a pleasant Halloween memory from your childhood. Perhaps you have a favorite Halloween year, or perhaps remembering going door to door and collecting loads of candy brings a smile to your face. Try to recall as many things as you can. Allow yourself to experience the joy that this gives. When you're done meditating, attempt to carry your happiness with you for the remainder of the day.
Thanksgiving Reflection
Thanksgiving is when people give thanks for all the wonderful things in their life. Consider all of the things you are grateful for throughout this meditation. If you believe in God or some higher power, offer a prayer of thanksgiving. This not only helps you to express your gratitude, but it also brings you closer to spirit.
Autumn meditations promote creativity, happiness, and thankfulness. They allow people to admire nature, relive joyful experiences, and appreciate what they have.
